Mother's day | Ofaneverydaygirl
ESTEE LAUDER Modern Muse. OSCAR DE LA RENTA clip earrings. ESTEE LAUDER Eyeshadow palette. INA CRYSTALS detox bath crystals. ELIZABETH ARDEN 8 hour cream. SARAH CHAPMAN Skinesis Facialist. NEOM candle. LOVE FROM LEMONADE CARD. AROMATHERAPY ASSOCIATES Polishing body brush. AROMATHERAPY ASSOCIATES bath and shower oil set.
I forgot flowers? That is obligatory, so we don't need to add those in. Do not forget, people. On that note, the day is coming, where we have to celebrate and treat our mothers like royalty; thanking them for cooking, cleaning and just bringing us up. Only once a year? I hope everyone has helped around the house and been nice to their mothers for more than one day.
As much as mother's day is a marketing genius, where we feel obligated to get the nicest flowers and most expensive perfume- it is actually quite good. Being forced by society to buy you mother something is okay, I think. However, those constant emails from Apple marketing their ipad as a great product for every possible celebration does drive me round the edge.
I have therefore collated some products. My budget is quite fair, and not to fancy pansy. My product choices are based around the idea of 'treat'. You want buy something practical, to use and be something that your mother would not really buy for herself. The spa/ facial products are such essentials, but not really essentials as it is something that they will grab in an instance.
Department stores are great for buying products, as they house everything. Skincare, Perfume, flowers, Jewels; just everything. Really, we don't need to be overly jazzy, and sometimes a bouquet of flowers, breakfast in bed,and little this or that is just perfect. Its the little things! And in my eyes small things, like the above are great.
I have some discounts and treats for you guys to help treat your mothers and maybe a possible treat for yourself.

Hi-shine | Ofaneverydaygirl
#Firstworldproblems: My face is so dull.
With that out and exposed, I will take you on a journey of how I try ever so hard to look like I've got the J.lo glow. She is the queen of glow. Backstage fashion show shots of models are full of girls looking fresh and flawless recently. Now, I like to believe that they have used 101 products, so I feel good about myself. Shameless, I know?
So here are the things I have in my draws for something plain and simple, which just highlights and gives a glow. I do not wear foundation. Possibly shocking? Therefore, I heavily depend on the little bits and bobs to give me a 'Hi, yes, I am an alive human being' look.
1. Topshop highlighter in Gleam.
Now, this is a pot of gleam. Exactly what it says on the tin. The consistency is quite thick and you need near to none. The colour is quite rose-gold-ish, and is quite obvious. It can look stark if not blended in. When I wear highlighter I want it as seamless as possible and part of my face; if that makes sense. Normally people tend to put a streak and it is very obvious. Therefore, I use the real techniques foundation brush, which allows to reach a greater surface area.
2. Simple Luminating radiance cream.
I bought this assuming I would wear it as an all over face cream, and when I did- it was a disaster. Simple somewhat failed in this product because the shine is just too much. It makes your face look greasy and shiny in a bad way, not that looking greasy ever looks nice. Especially if you have spots and bumps it truly exasperates them. So on that front it is a no-no. However, I decided to use this as a highlighter, but on major surface areas of my face. I take about 1/2 a pea size on my fingers and spread it in a c shape from the tops of my cheekbones to the top of the corner of my eyebrows. I even bring it to the corners of my temples to give a healthy glow- assuming its a natural gleam succomed from happiness , sun and natural beauty. I do bring it down my nose, however you have to be careful as it is quite glittery.
3. Topshop Brighter pen.
This is a replica for the YSL touche eclat, with just the 'meh' packaging. I shove on a load of concealer for the under eye bags of ever lasting darkness but it just makes me look more ill. Therefore, I run for this, as it truly does brighten. Concealer on its own is quite mattifying and can leave you looking very non-dimensional, if that makes any sense. Its blunt. Whereas, the creamy consistency and added 'not so obvious' glow of the highlighter adds some liveliness under the eyes, making them awake, rather than looking very obviously that you are trying to cover insomnia.
4. Clarins lip perfector in 02.
The smell is a dream. The packaging is a dream. The colour is subtle yet uplifting and gives a lovely sheen that just is the perfect nude/ light pink sheen. A staple, really.
5. Avon shimmer glow dust
I have had this forever, and I remember how I used to brush this on my face forever as I couldn't see anything transfer on my face. But trust me it does; you just need daylight. This can work as an all over shimmer and great for the collar bone. The colour is quite tan and gives some added warmth. I started using this again, and it really is great for some added warmth to the face and decolletage. Remember not to over do it; as it is released from a brush in small amounts.
6. The body shop blush in Petal
I remember buying this, on the basis of the sales assistant claiming its the top-seller beauty product of theirs and is a true love. The highlighter is lovely, but is quite sparkly. The blush is lovely but yet again, quite sparkly. Building the colour is better than just putting too much in the first place.
7. Flomar eyeshadow in 401
I picked up this quad from Madrid. This Italian brand product is super pigmented and gives a 'deep' colour pay-off. The highlight shade, has somewhat of a yellow undertone, and is very sharp in shine so a little dab is needed. This is the best inner eye highlight i have used, as it does not look too stark and out of place. I sometimes dab on the product to reduce the shine. A GO-GO in my eyes.
8. Utensils: The angled brush is very small, therefore reaches a smaller surface area and prevents too much unneeded shine. I use this for the body-shop highlighter, and highlight in a c-shape. The Real techniques accent brush is the holy-grail for highlighting the inner eyes. The shape is perfect and all I do is do a quick dab of the brush in the eye-shadow (just a DAB) and then dab once on the inner corner. If you want a more concentrated inner eye shine, dab once more, or how ever many more times. Lastly, the pointed foundation brush is great. Again to reach a larger surface area (top of cheekbones), and not give too much of a concentrated look.

Stella by Stella McCartney | Ofaneverydaygirl
Well, what can I say about this? I have significant stories in the process of buying perfume. Is that weird? My mother is obsessed with perfume, so we always end up buying them as presents. This specific perfume was hot as fire on the blogger radar, so I was dying to have a sniff of it. I remember the specific store in Manchester where I smelt it a year ago. It was divine. I could not stop sniffing myself and longed out the process of washing the top it was sprayed on.
However, some time later I finally acquired it and it was kind of disappointing. The scent was heavily rose-y, and I despise rose. Though, I have been using it again recently and having little sniffs here and there, and I am coming to like it more and more.
Ok, less about me, and more about the perfume. So, the scent has a blend of rose and amber, making it quite deep and sensual. Maybe that is the reason why I do not like it as much. Overall, the heart notes include peony, rose, mandarin orange and woody notes, which produces an overall floral scent.
The scent being floral, is not the ordinary floral in my opinion. It is a very sensual concoction of florals, which is more feminine as opposed to something more 'younger'. However, to some extent there is a modern aura to it as, as much as it is quite intense, it is a 'fresh' scent that is perfect for everyday.
As much as it can be worn yearly, I think it is better suited as a winter scent, just because the deep sensual scent will be more sharp in the cold. However, the warm weather will attack the deep scent in the heat and make it quite sickly. My opinion of course, but I shall test my theory as the weather has blossomed in London.
If you would like to have a sniff check it out in-store. Pick yours up online here. Both 30ml and 60ml are available, which are £39.50 and £68.50 respectively.

What to buy for a friend? | Ofaneverydaygirl

Normally when a birthday of a family, friend or any other comes along, I tend to hide and do not want to make a decision. I have two legitimate reasons for this.
1. This one has to go first, so I do not look that bad. And that is; sometimes people, or lets say majority of the time, people are specific in their tastes and it is therefore hard to meet their expectations.
2. Now, this will make me look bad. But I have little motivation to step out and buy presents. I normally do not shop a lot, but when I do pop out I always tell myself that I will come back and buy something. And that never happens and therefore, I am always late. Am I the only one who does that? Probably.
Therefore, to get myself and others who have little idea and motivation to go and buy presents hopefully this will give some aid. This compromisation of products are not luxe, which have deciphered from the heavens of net-a-porter. Rather, I have taken an approach where my present choices are simple, easy and just fun. Also, being a student and assuming many others would be on a tight budget, I think this is better suited.
When I think of presents I would like, other than Chanel and every other designer items, I would like things that I would normally not buy for myself because I do not find it viable, if that makes sense. Therefore, here is my list. Who does not want some basic b*tches plasters?

GAP pussy bow blouse. Similar here
River Island lace heels
She is a woman who loves to mix and match and be simple yet looks more than just simple, if that makes any sense. I personally love the mixture of forest green with the grey. The green is such a great way to divert from the constant black denim, as the difference is now as stark.
Also, Pussy bow blouses are amazing. I now just need them in white, black and any other colour under the rainbow (which would look nice, of course).

Designer WANTS | Ofaneverydaygirl

HAIDER ACKERMANN Cracked metallic pants. RYAN STORER Swarovski crystal ear cuff.
Have you seen the capitalisation of the 'WANT' in the title? Well, yeah; that explains the post well.
Life is unfair isnt it? Like really unfair. I ponder a lot, and some of that has resulted in a few words down below.
One example of a 'ponder' I make a lot is the thought that there are people who have EVERYTHING. Beauty, Brains, boundless bank balances, mass of friends. JUST EVERYTHING. It is not that they have a few out of many- NO! Like I said- EVERYTHING. (Hope you do not take the term 'everything' quite literally).
However, I am not being a bratty teenager. Ok, maybe I am. But why? Is there a mathematical equation to answer my Important question? A theory? An anything? My brain can conk up a very simple answer and It is very much correct in my eyes, but I do not want to agree. And that is a simple 4 letter words: LIFE. Like I said, I shan't agree to this. We need equality, right? The ideology of equality in this sense wont work, but lets not include the political-economic paradigm to this argument. So, lets just say what we want, and wish, and pray and dream, and work, and everything else we must do. Therefore, my wishlist for now, is up above as well as some here. 1. Louboutins 2. A car/ or even cars 3. Proenza Schouler PS1 bag(s) 4. Finn Harries 3. An apartment 4. An unicorn Is that too much too ask? [INSERT YOUR WISHLISTS DOWN BELOW] p.s. Do not take my 'blah' too seriously. |

Bow tie business | Ofaneverydaygirl outfit
H&M double breasted blazer. Similar here
I would rather add on some sky high heels, leather to be precise with platforms with an open toe. I am describing Cara's shoes in the outfit I just spoke about, but I promise I used my own imagination, ha. Such shoes are sitting on my wishlist - forever, I need to find some now. Also, I need, I repeat need a full black satin suit.
Moreover, I need some proper skinny black jeans, I look much bigger than I am in these. Therefore, I do not recommend the jeans listed above. Any GOOD skinny black jeans, that will change my life? Do spill!
Let me know how you find la outfit.
