It’s every girls dream to buy
what she wants and not think about the means of paying for it. No doubt we work
our backsides off but even then that money has to go for much more important
things, instead of buying a Chanel handbag.
Sometimes a little indulgence is
the root to our happiness and an extra vital boost to work harder and treat
oneself a little more. This is essentially my life story. Only being 17 and
having a part time job and having a Chanel bag(my dream) is a little far-fetched. However,
let’s not stop the dreams coming true; I am a little money saver but I know
many people aren’t. However, I have come up with some little this and that ways
to save a little at a time till it create a mountainous of coins.
As they say pennies make pounds.
1.
Decide the thing you ideally would love
to get. Don’t choose a gazillion Prada bags and Laboutins shoes because this
will be a little far-fetched. Stick to something that you really really really
want. Personally for me a chanel bag.
2.
Once you have a price range, don’t be
intimidated by the excessive digits of the products and lose faith. Just grow
the little belief that you will slowly save that amount to one day day buy that
product.
3.
Spend your ‘spending’ money carefully.
Rather than spending your excess money on things on sale or really cheap items
which you already have a gazillion on and won’t really need; SAVE IT. The more
you spend on other things, not only will you feel guilty about wasting money
and not saving, but you will literally have nothing to save.
4.
Get a jar; ideally DIY or reuse something
where you can put excess change and money. This is where pennies makes pounds. Any
change you find lying around or seem to have a bulge of coppers; USE them and
put them in the jar. This will slowly build up and soon make a decent amount of
money.
5.
Every girl has too many clothes to
handle. So your mum, sister, cousins and aunties excess clothes will make a
mountain top. Ask them and yourself if they/ you have any nice clothes, bags,
accessories in good condition which they/you will never use again. And you
could have a garage sale or even sell on eBay. This will easily make you some
money.
6.
Limit spending on food, drinks. I don’t
know if it’s only me but whenever I go out, even to college, work, it seems all
my money is spent on food. I find this really annoying; so instead of wasting
£3 on a sandwich and drink take it from home. Spend the extra 5 minutes making
a sandwich and grabbing a piece of fruit. I hope everyone has food at home so
why not use that. Even though, I am lazy and many of us don’t do this; it will
save us LOADS.
7. For
birthdays, exams presents, religious
celebrations some may get money. But if you feel you have enough things.
Instead, just ask for money. Obviously don’t have high hopes for fifty pound
notes but yet again everything will add up.
Realistically, if you want it you
got to work for it. Decide what your needs and wants are. Quite literally
majority of things we have are wanted things. But let this one special product
be a true ‘WANTED’ item. But with every ‘WANTED’ thing comes a big fat price to
pay.
We can do it people.
